Despite the
disappointing weather our trips have been well supported and enjoyed
by all. The Sark Sheep Races were a "winner" and we look
forward to events
such as the
Mont St. Michel Walks
and
Lessay
Fair
in September.

Channel Breaks are
doing their bit to liven up summer and to bring
atmosphere to St. Helier, by organising street entertainment. This
has proved tremendously popular with both visitors to the island as
well as locals. David Henderson has "busked" playing the accordion
and presented puppet shows at Liberation Square and in King
Street.

Le Tocqueville is
the latest Manche Iles Express boat to join the fleet. The
addition of this boat
means twice the number of sailings to Normandy as Le Tocqueville,
which carries 263 passengers and travels at 26 knots, sails from St. Helier to Granville and Gorey to Carteret plus
the other Channel Islands. The boat has been specially designed
and built to suit the local waters and has a single hull which
means that it will be very reliable as it can sail when the
weather is unsuitable for a catamaran.
